CHEMED's Womens Health Department is led by Dr. Sonja Kinney and provides comprehensive health care services throughout a woman's lifetime. We care for pregnant women from early pregnancy assessments to ongoing low and high-risk care needs. We have onsite ultrasound, lab draw stations, and immunizations. Our expert Maternal Fetal Medicine faculty from Rutgers are an important part of our care team on site 3 days a week. They offer second opinion consultations and ultrasounds as well as preconception visits. Our providers also offer all non-pregnant care for women looking to meet their needs for screening, contraception, and problem -based issue such as abnormal bleeding, and pelvic pain. Our surgeons perform many out-patient hospital procedures through the RWJBH system.
Dr. Kinney has been Board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology since 2001. An experienced OB-GYN, Medical Director and Professor, Dr. Kinney is an exemplary choice as CHEMED's Director of Women's Health. In her previous roles as Medical Director, Dr. Kinney was accountable for all clinical activity, improved access to care, workflow and patient satisfaction, at multiple sites. Among her many accomplishments, Dr. Kinney is a member of the UNOS VCA National Committee which develops standards for Vascularized Composite Allografts. She has taught extensively in the University of Nebraska Medical Center, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, was Director of the Division of General OB/GYN, Director of the Colposcopy Clinic, Medical Director for the Nurse Midwifery service, and was on the medical advisory board of the Every Women Matters program for the State of Nebraska (cervical subgroup), amongst many other roles. Dr. Kinney received her undergraduate degree in Anthropology from Harvard University and her Doctor of Medicine from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

With 30 years of OB-GYN experience, Dr. Gay Fried, brings caring and compassion to CHEMED's Women's Health Department. A graduate of the Sackler School of Medicine and the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Dr. Fried is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Jeniffer Billington is a certified nurse midwife with nearly two decades of nursing experience. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Nursing from Rutgers University (1988-1992), followed by a Master's in Nursing from the University of Miami School of Nursing. Jeniffer has developed exceptional expertise working at several respected medical institutions, including Mount Sinai Medical Center, Methodist Hospital, and Maimonides Medical Center. She has also worked at Kliot OB-GYN and Boro Park OB-GYN in Brooklyn. Currently, Jeniffer is leveraging her extensive experience to provide care for CHEMED patients.
Laura Pomerantz PA-C

Laura Pomerantz PA-C graduated from Touro School of Health Sciences with a masters in Physician Assistant studies in 2019. She has worked previously at the Brooklyn Hospital Center providing care on the labor and delivery service, as well as gynecological care and assisting in surgical procedures. She is skilled at managing abnormal bleeding patterns, peri/postmenopausal symptoms, adolescent care, contraceptive management and placement, ovulation induction management, and yearly screenings. She strives to provide a comfortable, stress-free, high quality level of care to all patients. Her goal is that all woman should be empowered to understand and take charge of their health.

Carolyn Slattery, CNM is a dedicated midwife educated at Columbia University?s School of Nursing, where she earned both her BSN and MS in Midwifery. She began her career at Maimonides Medical Center?s Midwifery Service in Brooklyn, NY, and has since expanded her expertise in various hospital-based practices and Federally Qualified Health Centers across NY and NJ, most recently with Monmouth Medical Center. Now part of the Women?s Health Department at CHEMED, Carolyn is committed to providing quality care to all women and families. She believes that healthcare is a team sport, with the patient as the central player, and is particularly passionate about breastfeeding, contraception, and empowering women to build healthy lives.
Dr. Rosen is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology, as well as in the sub-specialty of maternal-fetal medicine (MFM). He sees patients with high-risk pregnancies, including multiple pregnancies and those with a history of pregnancy complications. The MFM group performs ultrasounds for prenatal diagnosis and for indications such as preterm birth prevention. Dr. Rosen has served as the Director of Maternal-Fetal Medicine at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and as the Director of the Regional Perinatal Center at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick since 2009. He is involved in several funded clinical research projects, and some of his past work has changed obstetrical care nationwide. Dr. Rosen was previously on the faculty at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and NYU School of Medicine.

Dr. Haylea Sweat Patrick, MD, is an accomplished physician affiliated RWJBarnabas Health network, with a primary practice site at RWJUH New Brunswick. A native of Louisville, KY, she completed her medical education at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine and went on to complete her residency in OB/GYN at the University of Virginia School of Medicine. Dr. Sweat Patrick further specialized in Maternal-Fetal Medicine through her fellowship at Rutgers - Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. With a strong foundation in both clinical care and academic training, she is committed to providing exceptional patient care while contributing to advancements in her field. Dr. Sweat Patrick is deeply dedicated to improving health outcomes and providing compassionate, evidence-based treatment to her patients with medically complex pregnancies.

Dr. Julia Knypinski is a Maternal Fetal Medicine physician with expertise in high-risk pregnancies, including pre-conceptual counseling, antepartum, and postpartum care. She completed both her medical school and residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, where she trained at Parkland Memorial Hospital. Dr. Knypinski is board-certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology and completed her Maternal-Fetal Medicine fellowship at Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, New York. She is also affiliated with RWJ and is committed to providing comprehensive and compassionate care to women and babies at CHEMED.
