The Lakewood Resource & Referral Center’s mission is to provide comprehensive, accurate and empathetic social services, information, referral, assistance, and advocacy, for government entitlement and private sector programs. The LRRC is a federally designated 501(C)3, non-profit organization committed to excellence in the delivery of quality Social Services, Information, and Assistance.
Established in March 2005, the LRRC was created to help New Jersey resident access, navigate, and understand the complex and often confusing government entitlement offices, information sources and applications. The LRRC was created specifically to assist residents in addressing the barriers they face as they attempt to negotiate the social service and health care systems. The LRRC serves as a “one-stop” social services community agency by providing information about the many medical assistance and social service programs available to low-income residents, explaining guidelines and screening residents for eligibility, assisting residents with the application process, and providing advocacy and intervention services to assist Lakewood residents in resolving problems with benefits and services.
The LRRC provides assistance with information and referral, entitlement screening, advocacy and problem resolution, case management, crisis intervention, immigration assistance, and comprehensive housing services. They also provide services in the medical field including eligibility screening for Medicaid and New Jersey Family Care, application assistance for Medicaid and New Jersey Family Care, and provide information and referrals regarding medical assistance programs (Medicaid, N.J. Family Care, charity care).
The LRRC provides in-person and over-the-phone appointments.
